Go On A Spring Picnic
With the weather turning warmer in many regions, outdoor picnicking will be on the rise. Keeping in mind that picnic foods are a bit different than sitting down to a big plate of corned beef and cabbage, here are some suggestions as to what you can take along on your St. Patrick’s Day picnic:
- Cured salmon
- Irish apple cake
- A thermos of Irish coffee (and the fixings)
- Irish soda bread
- Your favorite brand and kind of potato chips (It’s potatoes, so it’s Irish!)
- A thermos of tea and some custard creams
Create A Collage
From paper clips and buttons to magazine pictures and everything in between, you’ll always be able to find something with the color green in it. Get your creative juices flowing by creating a St. Patrick’s Day masterpiece – a collage. Get some canvas or poster board, glue, scissors, and anything and everything green you can get your hands on.
Hold An Irish Cooking Contest
If you know a number of people who like to cook or bake, one way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day is with a cooking contest involving some popular Irish dishes. Here are some suggestions:
- Irish stew
- Soda bread
- Potato soup
- Shepherds pie
- Seafood chowder
Everybody Loves A Costume Party
