CUTLINES: Newly opened Discovery Village At Sandhill aims to raise key funding in partnership with The Honor Flight Network, to send vets to visit Washington, DC memorials recognizing their service and sacrifices.
COLUMBIA, SC [July 9, 2019] – Discovery Village At Sandhill will be hosting its Sail Away Charity Event, with proceeds benefiting The Honor Flight Network. The nautical-themed event is set for Thursday, July 18, from noon to 2 pm and will be held onsite at 440 Town Center Place in Columbia. Chef-prepared dishes including shrimp cocktail and mini crab cakes will be served alongside raspberry brie phyllo and key lime pie desserts.
The event is open to the public, and those in attendance may enter a Grand Prize raffle to win a complimentary cruise package. Net proceeds from the event will go to The Honor Flight Network, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to allow veterans to travel to Washington, DC to visit the national memorials honoring their service and sacrifices.

Discovery Village At Sandhill is located at 440 Town Center Place in Columbia. Opened on June 10, the new construction community offers 187 luxurious Active Independent Living senior apartment homes, all situated around a Grande Clubhouse offering multiple gourmet dining options with table service, a movie theater, state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor/outdoor heated pool, and more.
