Sandy Richards

Executive Director

Sandy Richards brings over a decade of senior living sales and operations experience to Discovery Village. Having an upbringing in hospitality, Sandy is passionate about customer service and leading by example. She believes that building strong relationships and making connections with residents, families and team members fuels the energy of the community. Sandy was raised in Brevard County and loves everything that the Space Coast has to offer. In her free time, Sandy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, going to the gym, and riding her Harley.

Brittany Carfley

Business Office Manager

Brittany Carfley is the Business Office Manager at Discovery Village at Melbourne. She has a Bachelors in Social Work from SUNY Buffalo State College. Brittany made the move to Florida in 2015 where she soon began working at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex as an Educator. Realizing children and teaching was not where she saw herself long term, she began applying to roles in the Assisted Living industry. Brittany has been working with the senior population for a little over three years and believes she has found her calling. She has her Activities Director Certification and has also just completed the Assisted Living Facility Core Training. Brittany is studying and registered to take the CORE competency test this coming February. With this accomplishment, she hopes to one day become an Executive Director of a community.

Kari Day

Director of Culinary Services

Kari Day is a director of culinary services and chef. She is originally from Baltimore, MD, and has lived in Florida for 5 years. She is a very passionate, hard-working, and dedicated individual. She has worked primarily in the food and beverage industry in her career. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and worked for years with dual diagnosis adults; but her love for making others happy through food took the front seat. Her real passion is pastry. She is an avid gardener; enjoying the freshness that brings to her cooking and baking at home. She has a strong desire to help others and be the light in someone’s day. Kari is a widowed single mother of 4 and spends her free time with her family.
