Stephanie Crabbe

Executive Director

Stephanie Crabbe is a seasoned leader, bringing over 20 years of experience in the senior living industry to the team at Discovery Village At The West End. With an extensive background leading teams in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, and memory care communities, Stephanie has consistently prioritized quality care and customer satisfaction. Her passion for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is evident in her team-focused leadership style, emphasizing collaboration and the well-being of residents and their families.

A graduate of Radford University, Stephanie began her journey in senior living as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, laying the foundation for her comprehensive understanding of resident needs. A Virginia native, she has spent 25 years in the Richmond area, currently residing in Ashland with her husband and two teenage sons. Beyond her professional dedication, Stephanie finds joy in family moments, exploring the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and embracing her love for travel. Excited about the opportunity at Discovery Village At The West End, Stephanie is committed to providing exceptional care and services, ensuring residents experience the highest quality of life while fostering a supportive and welcoming community.

Walter Beller

Assistant Executive Director

Walter Beller was born in Cleveland, Ohio. His childhood was spent playing outdoors in the neighborhood and summers were spent at the community pool. Finding his love of sports at an early age allowed him the opportunity to participate on teams from junior high through his college years.

He began his first real job in logistics after graduating from The Ohio State University. He has been afforded the opportunity and privilege to work in most geographic regions of the country. After relocating to Vail, Colorado as a self-proclaimed “ski bum”, he found his true calling into the world of hospitality. Several decades were spent honing his hospitality skills at 4- and 5-star hotels, resorts, restaurants, and clubs from Oregon to Virginia as well as several locations in between.

His career has focused predominately on operations, which he considers both challenging and enjoyable. He considers his journey at Discovery Village at the West End to be a wonderful fit because of the fulfilling relationships formed among the residents, staff, and peers that make it feel like being part of one big family.

Kristina Cochran

Senior Business Office Manager

Kristina Cochran has approximately fifteen years of business office and admissions experience with seven of those years working in senior living. She has a passion for working with seniors and assisting them with the transition between levels of care as well as helping them complete Medicaid Applications. She enjoys working with Discovery Senior Living because she feels that they truly believe in putting the residents first.
She is married to Gordon. They have two wonderful kids and two amazing grandkids. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, painting and traveling.

Bartola Cisneros

Director of Celebrations

Bartola Cisneros brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Celebrations Department from over 7 years of senior living experience.

She earned her degree in Recreational Therapy from Longwood University in Farmville, VA. In addition, she has a NCCAP Activity Professional Certification and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

She has a huge passion for working with seniors. She enjoys making their day engaging and joyful while putting a smile on their face.

She is married to her wonderful husband. They have an adorable dog name Nike.  They own a successful restaurant in Richmond. In her free time, she enjoys watching comedy shows, trying new restaurants, making funny TikTok videos, listening to podcasts, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Director of Facility Operations

Mike Smith has been working with Discovery Senior Living for over three years and considers it to be one of the world’s greatest jobs. Before beginning his senior living career, he proudly served eight years in the United States Marine Corps.
He is married and has a daughter and a step-son. He is an avid sports enthusiast and also enjoys spending time outdoors.

Riley Boyle

Sales Director

Riley Boyle grew up in Poquoson, VA where he graduated from Poquoson High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from James Madison University in 2012 and has been working in senior living since 2013.

His first experiences with senior living came when he would visit his Grandma Lou in memory care, which helped foster a passion for working with seniors and their families.

He enjoys hiking and camping, reading, soccer, breweries, and playing with his nephew. He is the proud pet parent of his dog, Tuck, and cat, Disco.

Senior Lifestyle Counselor

Christi Norton, a native of North Carolina moved to Virginia in 2000. She graduated with honors from Old Dominion University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Communications.

She began working in the senior living industry in 2016. Before entering the senior living industry, she was a successful sales and marketing professional working as a small business owner.

Christi and her husband, John are parents to two amazing adult children. She enjoys traveling, volunteering, visiting local wineries, and conversations over a good cup of coffee. She loves being a compassionate resource in helping seniors and their families navigate their next steps in senior living.

Ryan Sale

Director of Culinary Services

Ryan Sale was born in Doswell VA, where he first discovered his love and passion for food. Ryan Graduated from Johnson and Wales university with a bachelors in culinary arts and food service management. He has been in the food service industry for over a decade and experienced different levels of cooking from high end hotels to movie production. Ryan enjoys work at Discovery Village and believes the memories that are made surrounding good food can last a life time.

Michael Williams

Director of Culinary Services

Michael Williams has a lovely wife and five wonderful children.  He has been working in the Culinary Arts field since 2007. He finds much joy in using his knowledge, skills, and abilities to prepare delicious meals. Nothing makes him happier than to see the residents smile from an excellent dining experience.

Senior Memory Care Director

Regina Trent earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Sociology from Averett College. She is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She has tremendous appreciation and credits a dear friend for sparking her passion for memory care and inspiring a career change.

Her desire is to connect with each resident and family individually, while using her extensive knowledge of dementia to help families navigate the diagnosis.

She loves spending time with family, vacationing at the beach, and supporting her young adult children with their extracurricular activities and college events. She also enjoys mini excursions with her husband Duane, going for walks, spending time with her girlfriends, reading, and crafting.

Katherine Harding

Senior Lifestyle Coordinator

Katie Harding spent close to a decade as a caregiver to the elderly in Fredericksburg, VA. She feels her prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant gives her a unique perspective to aging seniors as their body and mind begin to change.

Her goal as coordinator is to create a stress-free transition for residents and their families, while offering wisdom and support along the way. She strongly believes her purpose is to work with seniors and looks forward to fostering this passion in the years to come.
When she is not in the community, she enjoys spending time in nature with a good book or catching live music events on the weekends. She loves to creatively express herself through making jewelry and writing poetry.

She is grateful to be surrounded by a wonderful family and loving friends. One of her greatest joys is being an aunt to her sweet niece and nephew.

Lorraine Hegameyer

Director of Health & Wellness

She has been a nurse for 40 years, the majority of which have been in senior living. She enjoys meeting residents and families. Lorraine has been married for 29 years to a paramedic. She has fur babies, loves to travel, and read mystery novels!
