Lori’s passion is working and caring for the elderly.  She has been in the healthcare field for over 20 years. She began her career as a RN starting off in the hospital, progressing to home care and then administration. Lori has been in administration for the past 10 years, specializing in geriatric care. She is a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner. Fun Fact: Lori was also an Administrator for our sister community, The Inn at Aston Gardens since and loved every second.  She says, “Working with the elderly brings me such happiness. My second passion is my family. My children and grandchildren are my world and when not working you can find me in the kitchen cooking!”

Jeanne has over 11 years’ experience in Dementia and Alzheimer’s Leadership and care.  She is happy to care for your loved ones, and her goal is to keep families connected.  Jeanne has lived in Florida for most of her life, and enjoys spending her time at the beach and boating.

Julie has over 10 years of personal and professional experience working with seniors, and joined Discovery Village at Palm Beach Gardens our Opening Day.  She is dedicated to ensure that Discovery Village becomes “home” for each resident, and their loved ones.  As a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner, she develops programming for different cognitive levels that is both stimulating and entertaining!  Julie puts a little bit of herself in each program and enjoys spending time with residents while they Bake, play BlackJack, connect at Happy Hour, take trips to the beach, Dance and Sing, create Crafts, be empowered with Brain Games and more!

Junia has had years of clinical experience, first as an LPN and now as an RN. She is from Brooklyn NY, where she attended Nursing School on Long Island, before relocating to Palm Beach County in 2002.  Most of Junia’s Nursing career has been dedicated to Alzheimer’s, Dementia and senior care. She is compassionate, and believes that every person deserves to live with dignity.  Junia cares for our residents and their families, and is humbled to be able to make a difference in each resident’s quality of life.  

Joan Shemanski_Dining Services Director

Joan Shemanski

Director of Dining Services

A native New Yorker, Joan has lived in Jupiter, Florida for over 30 years. Joan has a Bachelor’s degree in Food and Hospitality Management and a minor in Nutrition Education from Indiana University in Pennsylvania.  With over 40 years in the Culinary Arts Institute, she has received many certificates for Catering, Food Sanitation, and Food Preparation. Joan has worked at several NY Universities, where she hosted receptions for several US Presidents, the King & Queen of France and other dignitaries.  Joan has worked in Senior Living for over 15 years, and understands the operational challenges and regulatory requirements needed to provide quality, nutritional meals.  Joan enjoys getting to know the residents, strives to meet their culinary preferences, and provide them with an exceptional dining experience.
