Tom Goshorn

Executive Director

Tom started his career in the Hotel industry as a Food & Beverage Director. He spent 10 years working in that field which led him to Senior Living. In 2002, he started working for Discovery Senior Living (previously Aston Care Systems & Discovery Management Group). Over the last 17 years with Discovery Senior Living, he has been a Culinary Director, Regional Culinary Director, Associate Executive Director, Regional Associate Director, and for the last 12 years an Executive Director. Tom has accomplished many things along the way and is most proud of creating a great work environment for his staff and ultimately, a great home for seniors. He was born and raised in Sarasota Florida, when he’s not working he loves spending time with his family and also loves surfing, boating, fishing, and golfing.



Executive Chef

Chef Remco Van Asdonk, a Netherlands native, graduated from Culinary Arts School in Groningen, Netherlands and has over over 30 years experience working in hotels, restaurants, golf and country clubs, and for the past five years, senior living. Chef Remco is thrilled to bring his expertise to Discovery Villages At Sarasota Bay by providing residents with memorable cuisine created from fresh, local ingredients. He believes the best way to say ‘Thank You’ to our residents for a lifetime of hard work is by providing nourishing, home-cooked meals.

Don White

Director of Celebrations

We invite you to meet Don White, Director of Celebrations, and learn more about the exciting events we have going on at Discovery Village At Sarasota Bay. Don holds a degree in Business Administration from Marshall University. He has been in Health Care for seven years and has held an array of positions including Transportation and Activities positions in the senior living industry. Don knows the most important part of his job is to have patience, a good sense of humor, and a great calendar filled with activities for a diverse array of residents. Don is married with one daughter who is attending the University of Florida, and he enjoys flying, boating and golf.
