I absolutely love Discovery Village. My father has lived in Independent Living for 4+ years and has never had any issues. The staff is friendly and always greets you when you walk in with a smile. My grandma lived in Memory Care before she passed, also an amazing experience. The staff were attentive and treated her like family. Most recently, my father was being discharged from rehab without much notice and I was under a lot of stress to find him a new home with Assisted Living. Of course, Discovery Village came to the rescue. They are such a blessing! In less than 48 hours they looked for an available apartment, had staff go to rehab to do his assessment within a hour of our conversation, and offered to meet me on a Sunday morning to sign the lease. They provide stellar service. Special recognition goes to Jodi who was so patient and very caring. She did everything possible to make this happen for us. She provided exceptional service. Thank you Jodi! You have been such a blessing for me during this difficult, stressful time. Also, want to thank the Executive Director. Mark Shaffer. He truly cares for each of his residents and listens to understand each person's unique needs. This is the only senior living I would put my trust in as year over year I have received wonderful service. Thank you Jodi and Mark for going above and beyond. If you are looking for care for a loved one, look no further, with Discovery Village you won't be disappointed!

My mom recently moved into the Assisted Living at Discovery Village and my experience has been beyond expectations. From the very first meeting Roxanna took an interest and listened to my concerns and needs. We arrived on moving day and it was late in the evening, Mark the executive director, come out of his office and met us personally. It was just my brother and I moving my mom's things and believe it or not Mark the executive director jumped right in and helped us move her things into her apartment. He did this wearing a suit. 🙂 Every person I meet is understanding and wants to truly help me if I have questions. Courtney one of my mom's nurses, is friendly and also has answered any questions I might have concerning her medication and overall care. Every helper for my my mom is friendly and tries to make her more comfortable. Maddie with transportation, has also go above and beyond by helping me get my mom to her first doctor's appointment. Dawn with rehabilitation is so positive and super knowledgeable. She is already making progress with my mom in a short period of time. I live out of state so this whole experience is hard and extremely emotional. However, Discovery Village has helped me every step of the way in navigating this process to provide a great home for my mom.

My sister recently became a resident and my husband and I spent time with her checking places out to find the best fit for her. We all decided Discovery was the best place. We haven’t been disappointed. We have eaten with her, moved her in, and participated in activities. Roxanna was at our beck and call whenever, and I mean whenever we needed anything. She and Victoria gave us a warm and friendly tour. Ambassador and resident, Lucy, kindly greeted us and gave us an insiders tour. Mark, the executive director, with a happy smile, found time to stop and chat. Maddie, the activity director stopped at my sister’s room to invite us to a fun BINGO game, delivering us root beer floats. Jessica, at the front desk guided us, answered our many questions and always with a happy demeanor. Eric, maintenance, quickly and tastefully got her room clean and in order. The housekeeper (I’m sorry not to remember her name) stopped, introduced herself, and welcomed us. Ernest, transportation, seemed to always be around to add a cheerful touch, including giving a bouquet of flowers for her room. Corriina, in food service brought us delicious food, in style. We felt we were in a five star restaurant. Even the broccoli was delicious and the pecan pie was to die for. Courtney and her partner nurse were attentive, professional and kind. Wow! All in all a great place that I wasn’t hesitant to leave my sister at. I am not from SanAntonio so it is important for me to know she is happy, well taken care of and safe. Thank you Discovery!!

We are very satisfied with the management and team members in the memory care unit that assist my Dad. They do a great job of caring for him and keeping his day filled with activities and compassionate care. The Executive Director, Mark Shaffer, is a positive influence who is always asking for input to make sure we are pleased with the facility and staff.

My Sister and I had the pleasure of visiting this facility on Saturday. We were touring for our Father and his girlfriend. There were a few issues at the beginning, no fault of the facility, it was due to the third party that scheduled the appointment. We met with a wonderful young lady by the name of Victoria Gonzales. She was amazing and completely sold us on the facility. In fact, we did not even go to the second facility to tour. We went back a second time, this time with our Father and his girlfriend and they were equally impressed. And, trust me it takes a lot to impress our Father. I recommend seeing this property and ask for Victoria! You will love her energy!

The caregivers and staff at Discovery Village have provided invaluable assistance to our family members. The caregivers in Memory care have demonstrated compassion and extraordinary care. The Shine program engages residents throughout the day with a variety of activities. The caregiver team in assisted living has proven highly effective in times of crisis and provides a wide spectrum of care services to address the changing needs of our family members.

Although our time at Discovery Village was brief, we would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a wonderful place for themselves or a loved one. It’s lovely, very clean, has a great, caring staff and the food is delicious. Nurse Angela goes above and beyond to make sure every resident is exceptionally well cared for. I don’t know how she manages to do all she does.

I highly recommend Discovery Village for both Independent Living and especially Memory Care. I have moved two of my family members there due to their beautiful, clean facilities and skilled, caring staff. I recently moved my grandmother to Memory Care. Roxanna was so helpful and made me feel so comfortable as I was comparing facilities and Mark was also very caring and always followed up with me when I had questions.I knew right away Memory Care at Discovery Village is where my grandmother needed to be. I love how engaged they are with their residents and ensure they are not just in their rooms. Everytime I visit, she is always out with other residents. Huge shout out to Savannah, a caregiver in Memory Care. She models what an exceptional caregiver is- sweet, passionate, caring, highly skilled, and treats residents as if they are her own family! She is an angel and I am so glad she has chosen to work at Discovery Village and bless them and the residents with exceptional care. Thank you Savannah! You truly are a blessing!!!

Our parents have received the most loving care from the entire staff at Discovery Village At Dominion Assisted Living. They have gone over and above in the manner in which they provide for our parents needs. They are kind, compassionate, considerate, and very professional. The support they provided during our dad’s final days was incredible. The director, the nurses, the med techs, the caregivers, the activities director, the driver, the concierge, the maintenance crew, the housekeepers, and the food service staff were all so helpful and supportive. They truly have become our family, and we dearly love each and every one of them. The facility is well maintained and kept immaculate. Discovery Village at Dominion is a warm, welcoming, and fun place. I couldn’t ask for a better place for my mom to call home. They have our gratitude and appreciation for all they do for our entire family.

Both of my parents are residents at Discovery Village and we cannot be more pleased with the care and concern the staff has for my parents.My father is in the assisted living section and recently had a health issue requiring hospitalization. Angela and her staff handled the situation with professionalism and care to get him the care he needed. She continued to follow up with us throughout his hospital stay and his return to Discovery Village.My mother resides in the memory care unit. Each of the caregivers is patient and kind with her. They attend to her physical needs and she is well fed and clean. The staff provides stimulation and activities to engage the residents. Most importantly, on her “bad days”, I have seen them sit with her and reassure her through her fears and sadness.We spend a lot of time at Discovery Village and the entire staff is warm, caring and attentive. They are a blessing for my family.

My mother and sister lived in a 2 bedroom apartment for almost 2 years until they both passed away a couple months apart. The staff was great. Even during the height of Covid they keep the place going. The only negative is the AC was load in the living room and the person living above them made noise. They were sensitive to any noise, but I think that goes along with living on the bottom floor of an apartment. Too many people to thank for their kindness and for all they did.

This facility is inviting from the moment you park your car. It is beautiful and clean. The manager, Rick Herbert, is always approachable, positive, and just a good- heated person! I was invited to the car show last year and had a blast! The cars were so much fun to look at and the activities were fun. I'm looking forward to going again this year!

My grandfather has been at Discovery Village for almost a year and while we have had a few bumps in the road as you do with any place, the staff has taken the time to listen to our family when it comes to any requests or concerns we may have and have actually executed on their promises. A few of the standout staff members are Mattie, Roxanna and Ron. They have gone above and beyond for us with everything! I encourage anyone who is looking at assisted living facilities to consider discovery village.

I had my mother at two facilities in San Antonio before I found Discovery Village at Dominion. Each had its pluses and minuses. The decision to move her to Discovery Village Assisted Living was one of the best decisions I have ever made.Their attention to detail was amazing, especially during COVID. They kept the residents safe. Activities were a special part of my mother's life at Discovery Village, the food was healthy and delicious, and the environment warm and friendly.Caring is the one thing you hope exists in a facility where your loved one resides. That seems to be the mission at Discovery Village Assisted Living. The staff at DV have gone out of their way to help my wife's parents who are both residents. For my her Dad's 91st birthday, they offered a private room for her Mom, Dad along with my wife and her siblings to celebrate this special occasion. They offered to have their chef prepare a meal, but they opted to bring in some of his favorites instead. DV thoughtfully transferred the food from to-go containers to plates to make it special. In addition, they decorated the room for the occasion with balloons and a banner. The staff member that arranged all of this was April, who stayed close by in case anything was needed. My wife especially appreciated that April made sure that my mother-in-law, who is in Memory Care, had on a special outfit and had arranged for her hair and nails to be done for the occasion. Small things perhaps, but they meant a lot.

I have lived at Discovery Village at Dominion AL in San Antonio since August of 2019. I love everything about this place: my beautiful apartment, every employee, the protection and feeling of safety during these chaotic times. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an Assisted Living residence. I give it 5 stars!

We moved my Mom and Dad there in May. Excellent facility that we call her "resort." My father passed in October, but fortunately my mother had already made many friendships there with other women who have lost husbands and could help with emotional support. We just extended her lease since she has found her "home."Btw, I see a lot of 1-star reviews with no comments. I believe that are all bogus from competitors. This is definitely a great, modern place for seniors.
